How does it actually attach to my arm?

Two things hold it. You grip the handle, which sits at right angles to the blade rather than in line with it. The riveted leather band then buckles around your forearm behind it. The grip takes the weight, and the band stops it from rolling. Neither works properly without the other.

Will the blade press against my forearm when I wear it?

No. The blade sits above and away from the arm, not flat against it. That is why the grip stands proud of the band. Wear a sleeve anyway. Bare skin against 36 inches of polished steel gets uncomfortable long before the day is over, and it marks the finish.

Does the arm band fit a larger or smaller arm?

The band is adjustable and buckles like a belt, so it covers a normal adult range.

Would it survive a full day strapped on?

The band and buckle will, but your arm is the limiting factor. Thirty-six inches of steel hanging off one forearm adds up over eight hours. Most people who wear a pair take them off between photo sessions, and loosening the band between shoots helps more than you would expect.

Where does it go when it is off my arm?

Put it in the leather sheath, then lay it flat on a wall or in a drawer. The curve makes it awkward to stand upright, so most people mount it horizontally. Keep it out of damp rooms, because stainless steel still marks in a bathroom or a garage. Our Product Care page has the details.
